Laurens Spethmann

Laurens HC Spethmann (born July 16, 1930 in Hamburg ) is a German entrepreneur.

Live and act

In 1953, at the age of 23, Spethmann became managing director of the Ostfriesische Tee Gesellschaft and expanded it into a large company that also operates in Austria, among other places. Among other things, he founded the Milford tea brand . The tea companies Onno Behrends, Meßmer and Grosch belong to his group of companies .

Awards

In 1996 Spethmann received the Great Silver Decoration of Honor for Services to the Republic of Austria. On September 11, 2000, he was awarded the Cross of Merit 1st Class of the Lower Saxony Order of Merit . In 2002 he was given the professional title of Commercial Councilor for his services to the Austrian economy . Due to the establishment of the Laurens HC Spethmann Foundation and his work in the charitable sector, he received the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class on October 4, 2005 .
