Laurent Le Bon

Laurent Le Bon (born April 2, 1969 in Neuilly-sur-Seine , Hauts-de-Seine department , France ) is a French art historian and museum curator and museum director.

Life

Le Bon graduated from the Institut d'études politiques in Paris before attending the École du Louvre and graduating in monument protection . In 2000 he got a job at the Center Georges Pompidou in Paris and became a teacher at the École du Louvre. In the following years he was entrusted with building the Center Pompidou-Metz in Metz , Lorraine , of which he was director from 2010 to 2014.

Le Bon's other duties included the artistic direction of the Nuit blanche of the year 2012, as well as a seat on the jury of the Festival international du livre d'art et du film (FILAF) of the year 2012 in Perpignan . From 2009 to 2011 he was a member of the no longer existing Conseil de la création artistiaque .

At the beginning of June 2014, the French minister of culture appointed Le Bon director of the Musée Picasso , which reopened in Paris in October 2014 . The museum has to take around 60 percent of its budget itself.
