LeRoy Stone

LeRoy Stone (born January 5, 1894 in San Francisco , California , † September 15, 1949 in Santa Monica , California) was an American film editor who was nominated for an Oscar for best editing.

Life

Stone began his career in film editing in the Hollywood film industry in 1916 , in the silent film Civilization , directed by Reginald Barker , Thomas H. Ince and other directors , starring Howard C. Hickman , Enid Markey and Lola May . In the early 1920s he also wrote the scripts for the two films Skin Deep (1922) and Eyes of the Forest (1923). He worked as an editor in the production of more than sixty films until his death.

At the Oscar ceremony in 1945 Stone was for the Oscar for Best Editing nomination, namely for by Leo McCarey staged feature film Going My Way (Going My Way, 1944), where Bing Crosby , Barry Fitzgerald and Frank McHugh played the leading roles.
