Leah Greenberg

Leah Greenberg (born 1987 in Chevy Chase , Maryland ) is an American political activist and co-founder of the non-profit organization Indivisible . Along with Ezra Levin was it for authorship of the book We Are Indivisible: A Blueprint for Democracy After Trump by the magazine Time to time 100 counted.

Life

Greenberg grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland. She graduated from Carleton College and received a Bachelor of Arts . She then received her Masters in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University .

After graduating, she first worked for the philanthropic organization Humanity United . There she organized projects against human trafficking and slavery . She has been contacted by the United States Department of State and the Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review as an advisor on issues relating to human trafficking . She also worked as an assistant to Tom Perriello , Virginia Congressman . Greenberg also led the campaign team in Perriello's 2017 gubernatorial campaign .

Together with her husband Ezra Levin and Jeremy Haile and Angel Padilla, all of whom are former members of Congress, she founded the online publication Indivisible: A Practical Guide for Resisting the Trump Agenda in 2016 after Donald Trump was elected 45th President of the United States . The website went viral and became a progressive movement . Levin and Greenberg started a website and encouraged supporters to start their own local chapters. In 2017, the work of Indivisible as a 501 (c) organization was finally continued with Levin as President and Greenberg as Vice-President. In 2019 Greenberg and Levin published the book We Are Indivisible: A Blueprint for Democracy after Trump . In the same year, she and her husband were named one of Time Magazine's One Hundred Most Influential People of the Year.
