Leander Kills is a metal band from Hungary founded in 2015 .

history

Leander Kills was founded in 2015 by singer and bassist Leander Köteles shortly after his previous band Leander Rising broke up . The guitarists Miklós Czifra and Máté Bodor - who plays in the Scottish band Alestorm and was previously active with Wisdom - and the blind-myself - drummer Valentin Jankai could be won as additional members .

In November of the founding year, the band's first single, Szerelmetlen dal, was released. After releasing two more songs, Leander Kills released her debut album Túlélő in March 2016. In 2017 it became known that Máté Bodor could no longer be a permanent member of the band due to his work with Alestorm. András Vermes replaced him as the new guitarist. Köteles made Bodor an honorary member of the band and hopes that he will work with him on future works.

At the beginning of 2017 Leander Kills took part in the national preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest with the song Élet and reached the national final, which was lost to Joci Pápai . This was followed by the release of the second album, Élet a halál előtt . A year later, the group again took part in the preliminary round of the Eurovision Song Contest, this time with the title Nem szól harang and once again reached the final round. However, the group lost again, this time against their genre colleagues AWS and their contribution Viszlát nyár . The band will take part in A Dal again in 2019 , this time with the song Hazavágyom .
