Leandra is the solo project of the Belarusian-German pianist Leandra Ophelia Dax, founded in 2005 .

style

The artist describes the project as a reflection of one of her personalities. According to the artist, the mostly gloomy songs, permeated with trip-hop and electronic beats, are influenced by moments in which she sees the world through children's eyes. At the same time, she combines these influences with extreme situations she has experienced. Leandra sees herself as the medium of music and not as its creator, as the band Tool did. She describes herself as an avowed loner, which applies not only to her lifestyle, but also to her musical work. In the press, she is compared to Björk , Tori Amos and, because of her isolated lifestyle, Emily the Strange .

Leandra is an avowed admirer of the band Tool , the pianist Svyatoslaw Richter and the writer Carlos Castaneda , according to whose teachings she lives and works. Leandra also works as a keyboard player for the alternative rock band Jesus on Extasy .
