Leandro Castellani

Leandro Castellani (born December 1, 1935 in Fano ) is an Italian documentary filmmaker and television director .

Life

Castellani graduated in philosophy from the University of Urbino and graduated as a journalist , first became a film critic and from 1969 worked as a television author of numerous literary adaptations (e.g. Norimberga processo al processo ) and original material (including Le cinque giornate di Milano ). Between 1962 and 1990 he made documentaries and short films . From 1986 he also directed productions, including some interesting films, mostly made for television, such as Don Bosco in 1988 . In 2001 he became one of the directors of the long-running Incantesimo series .

Castellano is also active as a writer and in 2004 made a film on the poetics of John Paul II for the Vatican .

In 1987 he won the Golden Gryphon at the Giffoni Film Festival for Il coraggio da parlare .
