Burgensteig
The Burgensteig is a 115-kilometer long- distance hiking trail that connects the East Westphalian towns of Porta Westfalica in the Minden-Lübbecke district and Höxter in the Höxter district.

From the Porta Westfalica ( Westphalian Gate; ⊙ ), the breakthrough of the Weser - here separates the Wiehengebirge from Wesergebirge , the way transferred Dörentrup , Barntrup , Schieder-Schwalenberg ( ⊙ ) and Marienmünster ( ⊙ ) after Hoexter ( ⊙ ). The path leads the hiker from the Weserbergland through the Lipper Bergland back to the Weserbergland.

The Burgensteig with the signpost -Markierung X and - where appropriate - the path number "2" ( X2 marked).
The Burgensteig is looked after by the members of the Teutoburg Forest Association .
