Burgensteig

The Burgensteig is a 115-kilometer long- distance hiking trail that connects the East Westphalian towns of Porta Westfalica in the Minden-Lübbecke district and Höxter in the Höxter district.

From the Porta Westfalica ( Westphalian Gate; ), the breakthrough of the Weser - here separates the Wiehengebirge from Wesergebirge , the way transferred Dörentrup , Barntrup , Schieder-Schwalenberg ( ) and Marienmünster ( ) after Hoexter ( ). The path leads the hiker from the Weserbergland through the Lipper Bergland back to the Weserbergland.

Labelling

The Burgensteig with the signpost -Markierung  X  and - where appropriate - the path number "2" (  X2  marked).

The Burgensteig is looked after by the members of the Teutoburg Forest Association .
