Léandro (real name Léandro de Deus Santos ; born April 26, 1977 in Belo Horizonte ) is a Brazilian soccer player. He played in midfield for the German first division club Borussia Dortmund , but then returned to his previous club Atlético Mineiro .

life and career

Léandro de Deus Santos grew up as the first of six brothers in a favela in the megacity of Belo Horizonte on. He started playing football at the age of four. His brothers Lucas and Leonardo also became professional footballers, Léandro played together with Dedé at Borussia Dortmund from 2002 to 2004, where he was mostly used as a midfielder in the amateur team.

At the age of nine he played with Soares , who later also played football professionally as Lincoln , and his brother Dedé in a trial training session at Atlético Mineiro .

Bundesliga career

At the age of 25 he began his professional career at Borussia Dortmund. For BVB he played twelve league games in which he scored two goals.

Leandro scored eight goals in 35 games among the amateurs.
