The Learjet 55 is a twin-engine business jet in low-wing design .

history

The Learjet 55 was of Gates Learjet built and the previous version is the today of Bombardier sold, Learjet 60 . The Learjet 50 series was first announced at the Paris Air Show in 1977 . It should consist of the Learjet 54, 55 and 56 , of which only the Learjet 55 was ultimately implemented. Because of the winglets , which were new at the time , the machine was also called the Longhorn 55 .

The descendants of the Learjet 55 are:

  • Learjet 55B (1986)
  • Learjet 55C (1987)
  • Learjet 55C / ER (improved range compared to the Learjet 55C)
  • Learjet 55C / LR (improved range compared to the Learjet 55C)

The 55LR set several records in 1983; so she flew z. B. in 12 hours 37 minutes from Los Angeles to Paris with only one stopover.
