Lebbin is an inhabited part of the municipality of Markgrafpieske in the municipality of Spreenhagen in the Oder-Spree district in the state of Brandenburg .
Location and surroundings
Lebbin is located south of Markgrafpieske and is separated from the district by the federal motorway 12 . To the east lies Kolpin , a district of the municipality of Reichenwalde . This is followed in a clockwise direction by Storkow (Mark) , the Storkow district of Rieplos and the Markgrafpiesker district of Neu Waltersdorf. The surrounding area is largely forested. The Lebbiner Dorfstraße runs through the town as a central connecting axis in a north-south direction. To the east there is another connection to Rieplos. To the west lies the Lebbiner Heide.
history
The development of the place is strongly linked to the colonization of the previously sparsely populated areas by Frederick II . Some of the colonist families founded Lebbin as well as villages such as Briesenluch or Neu Markgrafpieske. They practiced fish farming and agriculture and built a quarter for shepherds around 300 years ago. It is a listed building in the 21st century.
On September 17, 1961, the former community of Lebbin was incorporated into Markgrafpieske. This community in turn has belonged to Spreenhagen since October 26, 2003.
