Reichenwalde lies on a ridge between the Storkower See and the Scharmützelsee .

In 1992, with the beginning of the administration of offices in Brandenburg, Reichenwalde merged with eight other municipalities to form the office Scharmützelsee , whose seat is in Bad Saarow . The municipalities of Reichenwalde, Dahmsdorf and Kolpin merged on December 31, 2001 to form the new municipality of Reichenwalde.

history

Reichenwalde, Dahmsdorf and Kolpin belonged to the Beeskow-Storkow district in the province of Brandenburg since 1836 and to the Fürstenwalde district (Dahmsdorf to the Beeskow district ) in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . Since 1993, the places have been in the Oder-Spree district of Brandenburg.
