Grunow-Dammendorf is an official municipality in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg . She belongs to the office of Schlaubetal , which has its administrative seat in the city of Müllrose .

geography

The community is located in the Schlaubetal in the east of Brandenburg in the city triangle Eisenhüttenstadt - Friedland - Müllrose. The two parts of the municipality are located in the north of the municipality stretching in a north-south direction, the southern part is taken up by the Schlaubetal Nature Park .

Adjacent communities are Mixdorf in the north, Siehdichum in the northeast, Schlaubetal in the east, Neuzelle in the southeast and the cities of Friedland and Beeskow in the west and northwest. In the extreme south, the community has a short border with Schenkendöbern , the Spree-Neisse district .

history

The first documentary mentions date for Grunow on July 15, 1387 and for Dammendorf on the year 1486.

Grunow and Dammendorf belonged to the district of Lübben (Spreewald) in the province of Brandenburg since 1817 . Both were incorporated into the Eisenhüttenstadt-Land district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) in 1952 . Since 1993, the places have been in the Oder-Spree district of Brandenburg.

The community of Grunow-Dammendorf was created on October 26, 2003 through the merger of the previously independent communities of Dammendorf and Grunow.

traffic

Grunow-Dammendorf is on federal road 246 , which connects Beeskow and Eisenhüttenstadt , and on state road  435 between Müllrose and Groß Briesen . The state road 43 also runs through the municipality, but without crossing any of the districts.

The Grunow (Niederlausitz) train station is located in the Grunow district on the route to Königs Wusterhausen and Frankfurt (Oder) . It is served by the regional train line 36 ( Königs Wusterhausen - Frankfurt (Oder) ) by the NEB every hour. The connection to Cottbus was discontinued in 1996.

The community is part of the Berlin-Brandenburg transport association . The BOS bus line 400 runs between Beeskow and Eisenhüttenstadt and stops in both parts of the community.

The Eisenhüttenstadt – Frankfurt (Oder) airfield is located in the neighboring municipality of Siehdichum to the northeast .
