Siehdichum is an official municipality in the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg. It is administered by the Schlaubetal Office.
geography
The municipality of Siehdichum is located in a hilly landscape that was shaped by the Vistula Ice Age and is almost completely forested. The western boundary of the municipality forms the Schlaubetal , in the east the terrain slopes sharply to the Ziltendorfer lowland formed by the Oder . The area of the ArcelorMittal Eisenhüttenstadt steelworks and the city of Eisenhüttenstadt are located in the southeast .
Community structure
Siehdichum is divided into three districts, which are lined up along the east-west running state road L 37 between Müllrose and Eisenhüttenstadt. In the west is Schernsdorf , followed by Rießen . Pohlitz is in the east.
In addition there are the residential areas Försterei, Pohlitzer Mühle, Ragower Mühle, Rautenkranz and Siehdichum.
history
The districts of Siehdichums were laid out in the late Middle Ages. Rießen was first mentioned in a document as an anger village in 1300 . A sales deed about the Angerdorf Pohlitz is known from the year 1332. The alley village of Schernsdorf was also mentioned for the first time in the 14th century.
Before the merger, Schernsdorf had several districts itself, which were dissolved in 2003. These were Kallinenberg, Ragower Mühle , Siehdichum and Wustrow. The place was first mentioned in 1347 as a church village. Until 1969 there was a water mill near Schernsdorf, the Mittelmühle , which was torn down in the GDR era.
Pohlitz has had an airfield east of the village since 1966. There is also a shepherd's museum of the shepherd's club Märkischer Heidehof . The place was first mentioned in 1318 as "Parlitz maior et minor" (Big and Small Pohlitzer See) .
Pohlitz, Rießen and Schernsdorf belonged to the Guben district in the province of Brandenburg since 1836 and to the Eisenhüttenstadt-Land district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 . Since 1993, the places have been in the Oder-Spree district of Brandenburg.
The municipality of Siehdichum was formed as part of the Brandenburg municipal area reform on October 26, 2003 from the previously independent municipalities of Pohlitz, Rießen and Schernsdorf. It was named after the old forester's house Siehdichum, located a few kilometers from the settlement area on the Hammersee .
