The church

Groß Briesen village church

Typical of the region, there is also a village church in Groß Briesen, which was built in 1893 from bricks in the neo-Gothic style. The rectangular nave is covered with a gable roof and the three sides of the apse are adorned with leaded-glass windows . There are also six ogival glazed windows arranged in pairs on the sides. The Sauer organ located under the western gallery was recently renovated and inaugurated in 2006. The winter church is located under the west gallery, as the nave itself is unheated. The furnishings date from the time the church was built .
