Leberecht Cleinow

Leberecht Cleinow (born June 10, 1701 in Ziesar , Mittelmark , † May 28, 1762 in Königsberg i. Pr. ) Was a German pastor at Königsberg Cathedral .

Life

Cleinow began to study Protestant theology at the University of Jena in 1719/20 . He lived with Johann Andreas Danz , who introduced him to oriental languages . Cleinow moved to the Friedrichs University in Halle . Albrecht Konrad Finck von Finckenstein appointed him field preacher in his regiment. On October 5, 1728, he was in Berlin ordained . In 1732 he went to Stolp , Pomerania, as pastor and praepositus . In 1734 he moved to Gardelegen , Altmark, as pastor and superintendent . In the same year he was appointed to the Königsberg Cathedral. Johann Jakob Quandt introduced him to the office on July 27, 1734. At the same time he was consistorial councilor and church councilor . He died shortly before his 61st birthday.
