Gingerbread House
The Lebküchnerhaus is a town house with half-timbered within the protected old town of White Castle in Bavaria in the Middle Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen . The house is located opposite the Old Town Hall , in the narrow point between Luitpoldstraße and Marktplatz. The building with the address Luitpoldstraße 2 is registered under the monument number D-5-77-177-234 as an architectural monument in the Bavarian monument list.
The narrow, four-storey half - timbered gable building was built around 1558. The building was modified in the 19th century. Up until the 20th century there were several small businesses in the building, including a gingerbread biscuit , which is what gave the house its name. The house has a gable roof . The ground floor is made of stone. The struts of the framework are arranged in a K shape.
The Lebküchnerhaus is known for its relatively small footprint. That is why the upper floors were projected outwards.
