Lech Raczak (born January 27, 1946 in Krzyżanowo ; † January 17, 2020 in Poznan ) was a Polish actor and director , theater scholar and pedagogue.

Raczak studied polonistics at the University of Poznan until 1969 . In 1964 he co-founded the Teatr Ósmego Dnia , of which he was artistic director from 1968 to 1992. From 1995 to 1998 he directed the Teatr Polski in Poznan, and from 1993 to 2012 he was artistic director of the International Theater Festival "Malta". From 2003 he taught at the Uniwersytet Artystyczny in Poznan.

He worked as a director and dramaturge with ensembles in Poland ( Sekta , Asocjacja 2006 ) and Italy ( Basho in Modena , Arca in Catania , Aenigma in Urbino, Uqbar in Verona ) and at theaters such as the Teatr Aleksandra Fredry in Gnesen , the studio theater in Warsaw, the Teatr Miniatura in Gdansk , the Teatr Współczesny in Wroclaw , the Teatr Nowy in Łodz and the Teatr Heleny Modrzejewskiej in Legnica .

In total he realized about seventy directorial works, some of which were recorded for television. More recently, he has worked with Ewa Wycichowska on her production of Transss and directed the television film Ze wspomnień Ijona Tichego with Tadeusz Janiszewski in the lead role. He himself appeared as the author of pieces for street theater such as Raport z oblężonego miasta (1983), Cuda i mięso (1984) and Mięso (1989). His theater studies texts have also been published in the USA, France, Germany, Great Britain and Italy and appeared in the three-volume edition Pism teatralnych in 2012 .
