Lee Aaker
Lee William Aaker (born September 25, 1943 in Inglewood , California ) is an American actor . He was best known for his role as Rusty in the series Rin Tin Tin .
Life
Aaker stood in front of the camera for the first time at the age of nine and initially played in many supporting roles. He played the first leading role in 1953 on the side of John Wayne in the 3D film They call me Hondo . From 1954 he took on the role of Rusty in the series Rin Tin Tin for five years . In the role of the orphan boy who grew up with his German shepherd in an American fort during the Wild West, he quickly played himself into the hearts of the audience. When the series was discontinued in 1959, Aaker's heyday was over: after a few guest appearances, the now 20-year-old tried to work behind the camera, but eventually he turned his back on the world of film and became a carpenter .
