Lee Hoe-taik (born October 11, 1946 in Gimpo ; also Hoi-Taek, Hwoi-Taek or Ho-Taik Lee ) is a former South Korean football player and coach.

Career

Lee Hoe-taik began his professional career in 1963 as a striker for FC Tongbuk. In 1972 he won the university championship with FC Hanyang. A year later he moved to the first division club FC Posco, where he spent his most successful time as a player. In 1974 he won the South Korean Cup with his team. As early as 1965, he wore the jersey of the South Korean national youth team. From 1966 to 1974 and 1977 he then played for the national team.

In 1983 he became the coach of his old club, FC Hanyang, and won the university championship again. In 1986 he moved to FC Posco as an assistant coach and soon after took over the club as head coach. In 1987 he was with him South Korean runner-up and the following year he won the championship of South Korea. On November 5, 1988, he was the national coach of South Korea , but kept the post of coach of FC Posco until 1992. After the preliminary round at the 1990 World Cup in Italy, he resigned from his position. From 1999 to 2003 he coached a club for the last time, the Jeonnam Dragons.

In 1993, Lee Hoe-taik became director of the Korean Football Association, whose office he held until 2003. In 2004 he became chairman of the technical committee (until 2005) and on May 12th he became vice-president of the KFA.
