Leland Stanford "Lee" MacPhail (born October 25, 1917 in Nashville , Tennessee , † November 8, 2012 in Delray Beach , Florida ) was an American baseball official in Major League Baseball .

Lee MacPhail, the son of Larry MacPhail, worked in baseball in various capacities for over 45 years. Among other things, he was director of player staff for the New York Yankees , president and general manager of the Baltimore Orioles and from 1974 to 1984 president of the American League . In 1998 MacPhail was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee . Larry and Lee MacPhail are the only father-son team in the Hall of Fame. Lee's son, Andy MacPhail, was the general manager of the Minnesota Twins and has been president of the Chicago Cubs since 1994 .
