Lee Mi-yeon (* 23. September 1971 in Seoul ) is a South Korean actress . She is one of the most popular actresses of the 1990s.
Life
Lee Mi-yeon was born on September 23, 1971 in Seoul, the youngest of four siblings.
She made her film debut in 1989 in the film Happiness Does Not Come In Grades . In 1995 she played the lead role in the feminist film Go Alone Like Musso's Horn , an adaptation of a novel by Gong Ji-young , and subsequently in the successful cult film No. 3 (1997). She was one of the most popular actresses in South Korean cinema in the 1990s and played a teacher in the horror film Whispering Corridors in 1998 . It was the second most successful film of the year and is considered an influential horror film.
In 1995 she married actor Kim Seung-woo , but they divorced in 2000. The news was a big topic in the South Korean media, which made the year 2000 mixed for Lee, as she also won the Blue Dragon Award for best actress for her performance in Pisces . The award spurred her career. In Indian Summer (2001) she played a woman accused of the murder of her husband. She also played the lead role in Last Witness (2001) directed by Bae Chang-ho . In 2002, she also starred on the side of Lee Byung-hun in the film Addicted .
After that, their roles became fewer. In 2005 she played a leading role in the blockbuster Typhoon , which was the most expensive South Korean film at the time. In 2012 she played the lead female role in the action film A Company Man, alongside So Ji-sub . Your character is a former singer who falls in love with a hit man, but knows nothing about his work.
