Lefitz is a part of the municipality of Clenze in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .

The village is located northwest of the core area of ​​Clenze between the B 493, which runs north, and the B 71 . The source streams of the Clenzer Bach arise north and east of Lefitz .

history

Lefitz was originally a municipality in the Lüchow district and was incorporated into the Corvin municipality in 1929 , which in turn became part of the Clenze municipality on July 1, 1972. During the Nazi era there was a so-called foreign child care facility in Lefitz . Young children who had previously been taken away from forced laborers were interned here. The majority of the children perished due to lack of care and insufficient food.
