Kassau is part of the municipality of Clenze in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .

The village is located southwest of the core area of Clenze on the country road L 261. To the south and southwest of Kassau extends the 480 ha large nature reserve Schnegaer Mühlenbachtal . It is traversed by the 13.1 km long Schnegaer Mühlengraben , a tributary of the Wustrower Dumme .

On July 1, 1972 Kassau was incorporated into the municipality of Clenze.
