Ontario Legislative Assembly
The Legislative Assembly of Ontario (English Legislative Assembly of Ontario , French Assemblée législative de l'Ontario ) is the legislative branch of the Canadian province of Ontario . It meets in the Ontario Parliament building in Queen's Park in Toronto .
The legislative assembly consists of 124 members who are elected by majority voting in as many constituencies . The leader of the majority party is also the prime minister and heads the government known as the executive council .
The three main tasks of the Legislative Assembly are enacting new laws, approving the state budget and overseeing the government.
