Mud and Brick Street

The clay and brick road is a holiday route in the eastern district of Ludwigslust-Parchim in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . It has existed since 1999 and is 54 kilometers long. Along the route, the production of brick in brickworks and its use in brick churches, old industrial buildings and modern ecological buildings are presented.

The circuit runs from Ganzlin over the state road 17 to Lübz , from there over the federal road 191 to Plau am See and then over the federal road 103 back to Ganzlin. Most of the travel destinations named “stations” are not located directly on the route, but are distributed in the area between Karow in the north and the Prignitz in the south.

The circuit includes 15 stations in Barkhagen , Gallin-Kuppentin , Ganzlin , Wahlstorf (Gehlsbach) , Kritzow , Lübz, Marienfließ and Plau am See:

Award

In 1999, the clay and brick road won the Socially Responsible Tourism competition . With the sponsorship award, the Study Group for Tourism and Development honors socially responsible tourism around the world. The clay and brick street is a "participatory project with a clear local and regional political orientation".
