Leila Abashidze
Leila Abashidze ( Georgian ლეილა აბაშიძე ; Russian Лейла Абашидзе ; born August 1, 1929 in Tbilisi , Georgian SSR ; died April 8, 2018 ) was a Georgian or Soviet actress and film producer .
career
Abashidze attended drama school at the Schota Rustaveli University of Theater and Film . Already during her childhood she appeared as keto in the film Kajana (1941). As an actress with a lively temperament, she created striking, emotionally charged characters. Her best roles include Marine in The Dragonfly (1954), Lela in They Descended From the Mountains (1955), Manana in Whenever It Gets Day (1956), Lia in The Splinter (1957), Maia in Maia Zqneteli (1959 ), Dsidsia in Chewisberi Gotscha (1964) and Lali Mindeli / Msewinari in Encounter in the Mountains (1966).
In 1980 she produced the comedy Tiflis, Paris, Tiflis , in which she also played the main role and for which she also wrote the screenplay . In 2009 she was honored with a star in front of the Rustaveli Cinema in Tbilisi.
