Leitch Keir (born June 22, 1861 in Alloa , Scotland , † June 29, 1922 ) was a Scottish football player .

Career

Leitch Keir was born on June 22nd, 1861 in Alloa . He spent his entire playing career at Dumbarton FC . During the club's most successful years, he won numerous titles, including twice the Scottish Championship in 1891 and 1892 , and once the Scottish Cup in 1883 . In 1887 and 1891 he reached the final of the cup two more times. He was known as "the lion" and played as the left outside runner . On March 23, 1885, he completed his first of five international matches for the Scottish national football team against Wales in an 8-1 win at Wrexham . In his third game he scored a goal against England in a 3-2 win in March 1887 at Leamington Road in Blackburn .
