Reading aid

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reading aids (also reading keys ) are books that provide a more comprehensive understanding and better interpretation of literary works . They basically contain a summary of the content and information on the essential aspects of the respective work.

Many reading aids are aimed at students and teachers and appear under frequently read titles in literature classes.

Other aids

More comprehensive, as they are not only related to literary works, are learning aids and teaching models that are also produced by many other publishers in a subject-specific manner.

Foreign language series

In the French-speaking world , reading aids are widespread in upper school classes. The rows differ significantly from one another, so that usually only a look helps. Text excerpts are often provided with references to similar motifs or constructions by other authors; or historical data or word explanations are added. Quotes or references from younger authors to the major work discussed are also popular. Ready-made questions make it easier for teachers to work and for students to learn. Examples: the Balises series published by Fernand Nathan; or the Profil series from Verlag Hatier; Both series with numerous subgroups, depending on whether an author as a whole or a famous work is presented, or whether the sub-series is defined in relation to the degree (e.g. Profil- Bac , to prepare for the Abitur).
