Leo Adde

Leo Adde , even Leon Adde (* 21st April 1904 in New Orleans ; † 1. March 1942 ) was an American jazz - drummer .

Adde first began to play percussion on a cigar box ; in the duo with Raymond Burke , he performed on the streets of New Orleans in the mid-1910s. Adde became a member of the Halfway House Orchestra under the direction of Abbie Brunies in the early 1920s ; At the end of the decade he played in Johnny Miller's New Orleans Frolickers . Adde took part in the recordings of Johnny Bayersdorffer and the New Orleans Rhythm Kings in the 1920s .

In the 1930s, Adde played with the Melody Masters , directed by Sharkey Bonano and Louis Prima’s brother, Leon Prima . He moved with the ensemble to New York City , where they played together as the New Orleans Melody Masters . By the end of the decade, he took on the New Orleans Owls and returned to New Orleans, where he died in 1942.
