Leo Vrkas (born June 2, 1991 ) is a German basketball player of Croatian descent.

career

Vrkas, son of the Croatian basketball coach Edo Vrkas and grandson of the former football coach Ante Bušelić (formerly national coach of Zambia), played in youth at Jahn Munich and from 2007 in the men's team of SV Germering in the second regional league. In 2010 he moved to BG Leitershofen / Stadtbergen in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB and reached the ProB final with the club in spring 2011.

In 2011/12 he made his first detour to the USA, after returning to Germany with a stop at the Giants Nördlingen in the ProB, Vrkas went back to the United States. In 2015/16 he was active again in Nördlingen in the ProB, for the 2016/17 season he switched to ETB Essen , but had to accept relegation from the ProA with the team.

In July 2017 he was signed by the second team of the Gießen 46ers , who competed in the 2. Bundesliga ProB in their 2017/18 premiere season. There he played 27 games in the 2017/18 season and averaged 2.6 points per encounter. His time in Giessen ended after one season. After having to take a break due to injury, he joined the Scanplus Baskets Elchingen (2nd Bundesliga ProB) at the beginning of 2019. For the 2019/20 season he went to the second team of the Crailsheim Merlins  (1st regional league).
