Leo von Erteneburg

Leo von Erteneburg , also Artlenburg († March 21, 1324 ) was canon of Hamburg from 1303-1327 , from 1312-1320 to Lübeck and from 1322 canon of Schwerin .

Life

Leo von Erteneburg was the son of the Hamburg councilor and mayor Leo von Artlenburg, brother of the Hamburg and Verden canon Friedrich von Artlenburg.

Leo was canon of Hamburg from November 1, 1303 to August 1, 1327, where he also held the provost's office from July 31, 1317 . On September 24, 1317, he asked the cathedral chapter to participate in weekly distributions even during his absence. A comparison of a number of disputes over competence with the Hamburg cathedral chapter only came about on July 8, 1320.

In Lübeck , Leo von Artlenburg was canon from July 21, 1312 to February 1, 1320. Because of various disputes with the Bremen Archbishop Jens Grand he was with other clergy of the Bremen Archdiocese of Pope Johannes XXII. quoted on July 17, 1320 at the papal court.

From September 28, 1322 he was Canon of Schwerin. There he received papal conservators , guardians against attacks by Prince Heinrich II of Mecklenburg on his prebendal property. On March 5, 1324 there was a settlement on the matter.

The day of his death is given in the Hamburg necrology as March 21, 1324.
