Leonardo Ciampa (born January 17, 1971 in East Boston , United States ) is an Italian-American musician. He is a composer , organist , pianist and author .

Life

Ciampa is the artistic director of the organ concerts of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), founder of the MetroWest Coral Artists, an ensemble with trained singers and he is the music and liturgy director of the Church of St. Maria u. St. Katherine of Siena in Charlestown . In 2015 he was appointed Honorary Music Director of the Basilica of St. Ubald in Gubbio by the Bishop of Gubbio , Mario Ceccobelli .

As an organist , he completed numerous concert tours through Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland, where he performed at numerous international festivals. As a pianist , Ciampa is known for his interpretations of Chopin .

He has written a large number of chamber music works in the neo-romantic style and church music , including the cantata The Annunciation , four organ symphonies and several masses .

Leonardo Ciampa also appeared as a book author.
