Leonhard Kuhn

Leonhard Kuhn (born May 9, 1987 ) is a German jazz musician ( guitar , live electronics, composition , arrangement ).

Live and act

Kuhn received basic music lessons at the Winsen Music School. He spent five years in the Landes-Jugend-Jazz-Orchester Niedersachsen and took private lessons with Sandra Hempel . Then he studied jazz guitar with Peter O'Mara and jazz composition with Gregor Hübner at the University of Music and Theater in Munich . He took part in workshops by Daniel Schnyder , Richie Beirach and Elliott Sharp .

As a guitarist he has been playing (together with Antonia Dering and Julia Kellner) since 2013 in the jazz-rock-minimal trio Bartomuk , with whom he presented the album Regenfernsehen in 2016 . With the trio Le Café Bleu international , which also includes Matthieu Bordenave and Jay Lateef, he has released two albums for Enja so far . As an electronics technician, he plays in Monika Roscher's big band , with whom he can be heard on two albums, and since 2014 with the Jazzrausch Bigband , with whom he also appeared in North America and can be heard on five albums. As a composer and arranger, he writes for the Jazzrausch Bigband and for larger ensembles such as the Baltic Youth Philharmonic . He also makes theater music.
