Leonhard Pohl
Leonhard "Leo" Pohl (born July 18, 1929 in Allenstein ; † April 23, 2014 in Pfungstadt ) was a German sprinter .
Career and Success
At the European Athletics Championships in 1954 in Bern, Pohl was fourth in the 100-meter run . In the 4 x 100 meter relay and in the 200 meter run , he was eliminated in the preliminary round.
At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , he was part of the German team that won the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 40.3 seconds with Lothar Knörzer , Pohl, Heinz Fütterer and Manfred Germar . In the same games he reached the semifinals in the 200-meter run .
At the German Championships he was second in the 100 and 200 meters in 1954 and third in 1955 and 1957.
Leonhard Pohl belonged to the TSV Pfungstadt .
