history
The Leonhardsturm, on the southern edge of the historic old town, was part of the former city fortifications of Alsfeld. It stood next to the former Fuldertor in front of the city wall in a corner of the moat. The quarry stone tower is broken by a few light hatches. A door with a pointed arch led to the city wall. A flat stone cone and a parapet reinforced with battlements form the end of the tower . An inscription dates the building to the year 1386. The dungeon was located on the ground floor, accessible only from the false ceiling .
