Leonid Iwanow ( Russian Леонид Иванов , English transcription Leonid Ivanov; born August 25, 1937 in Zaporizhia , Ukraine ) is a former Kyrgyz long-distance runner who started for the Soviet Union .

In 1962 he was sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Belgrade over 10,000 m, and in 1963 he won the Universiade over 5000 m .

At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he came in fifth over 10,000 m.

In 1965 he was Soviet champion over 5000 m, 1963 and 1965 over 10,000 m .
