Leopold Pötzlberger

Leopold Egon Pötzlberger (born February 1, 1927 in Vienna ; † June 3, 1962 there ) was an Austrian poet .

Life

During his studies in Vienna in the 1940s, Pötzlberger worked as an interpreter for the American military authorities and until 1956 for a translation agency and as a trade correspondent for various companies.

He then worked for two years as an editor at the American press office "International News Service" and at Reuters in London . For the municipality of Vienna he worked in the youth hostel in Pötzleinsdorf and Hütteldorf. He became a freelance writer immediately after completing his dissertation. He belonged to the circle of artists from Ernst Fuchs , Friedensreich Hundertwasser , Anton Lehmden , HC Artmann and Helmut Qualtinger . Pötzlberger was killed in a traffic accident in 1962.

At the instigation of Hermann Joseph Kopf, his poems were published posthumously in the Swiss literary magazine hortulus. He was married to Peggy Pötzlberger.
