Leopold Rütimeyer

Leopold Rütimeyer (* 1856 in Basel ; † 1932 ) was a Swiss physician, ethnographer and professor at the University of Basel .

He studied in Basel as well as in Leipzig , Berlin and Vienna . In 1881 he received his doctorate in Basel, where he also completed his habilitation in internal medicine in 1887 . From 1907 he was an associate professor.

In addition to his profession as a medical doctor, he studied ethnography and prehistory . The Swiss physician and anatomist Ludwig Rütimeyer was his father. In 1884 he married Charlotte Rosina Lindt.
