Leopoldine Augustin , née Leopoldine Weitz ( February 9, 1863 in Vienna - 1951 there ) was an Austrian theater actress and singer .

Life

After completing her training, she first devoted herself to concert singing and in 1879 toured Germany, France, Spain and Portugal, where she performed with great success. It was not until July 1881 that she turned to the theater career. She made her debut at the Stadttheater Mödling , then worked at several Austrian provincial theaters until she joined the Association of the Carltheater in Vienna in 1887 and worked there until 1889. In 1890 she was hired for the Krolltheater in Berlin , then worked for one season at the Wallner Theater after she had previously made several guest appearances in Hamburg and Dresden . When she returned to Vienna, she became a member of the Carltheater again.

From 1901 to 1902 she worked at the Berlin Central Theater. In 1904 and 1905 she undertook an extensive international tour and was then engaged at the New Operetta Theater in Berlin from 1909 to 1912 and then at the Berlin Theater des Westens from 1912 to 1914. From 1917 to 1918 she took part in the New Operetta Theater in Hamburg, after which she performed in Berlin until 1920. She died in Vienna in 1951.

She was married to Karl Augustin .
