Leslie John Griffiths, Baron Griffiths of Burry Port , (born February 15, 1942 ) is a Methodist pastor and life peer in the House of Lords , where he sits for Labor .

Griffiths became a preacher in his home ward in 1963. He graduated from Fitzwilliam College , Cambridge and graduated in 1969 with a Masters of Arts in theology ; at the same time he was trained as a Methodist minister at Wesley House . In the 1970s he lived most of the time in Haiti , where he was ordained , and then returned to the UK to work in parishes in Essex and Golders Green . 1987 doctorate Griffiths in philosophy at the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London . He was President of the Methodist Conference in 1994/95.

Since 1996 he has been superintendent at Wesley's Chapel in London. In 2004 he was promoted to Life Peer as Baron Griffiths of Burry Port , of Pembrey and Burry Port in the County of Dyfed .
