Let the Good Times Roll: The Music of Louis Jordan is an album released by BB King on MCA in 1999 that pays tribute to R&B musician Louis Jordan . Jordan was one of the most successful African-American artists in the United States in the 1940s and early 1950s . He had numerous hits in the charts and was the author of countless classic R&B pieces such as Saturday Night Fish Fry , Let the Good Times Roll , Caldonia and Choo Choo Ch'Boogie .

As a motivation for recording a tribute album for Louis Jordan, King stated that he wanted to show the world what music owes to this artist. Jordan was the first African-American to hit the pop charts, fill concert halls with R&B music, and whose singing style can be considered the forerunner of rap . Although Kings Blues and Jordan's Jump Blues seem to be far apart, King recorded this album because his showmanship and elements of his musical style can be traced back to Louis Jordan. On this album, King's most important contribution is the vocals, which makes you realize that King is often underestimated as a singer.

The album reached number two on the top blues albums chart .
