Coordinates: 62 ° 28 ′ S , 59 ° 39 ′ W
The Letelier Bank ( English ; Spanish Banco Letelier ) is a bank in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located northwest of Ash Point on Greenwich Island in the entrance from the English Strait to Discovery Bay .
Scientists of the 19th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1964–1965) probably named it after a participant on this research trip. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2004.
