The lighthouse Heiligenhafen is a guiding and warning fire on Fehmarn . The white leading sector indicates the approach to Heiligenhafen , the green sector warns of the Graswarder and the red sector of the Großenbroder stone reef .

history

For the safe return of the fishing vessels , a lantern with a parabolic mirror was pulled up on a fisherman's house from 1885 onwards . When the building was destroyed by fire, a 12-meter-high round lighthouse with an iron lantern was built in 1907, which was replaced in 1938 by today's square tower made of masonry with clinker facing . The three years are written on the lake side of the tower.

The lighthouse is maintained by the Lübeck Waterways and Shipping Office and monitored by the traffic control center in Travemünde .
