Levan Tskitishvili ( Georgian ლევან ცქიტიშვილი ; born October 10, 1976 in Tbilisi ; English transcription: Levan Tskitishvili ) is a Georgian football player .
Life
In 1998 he moved from Dinamo Tiflis to SC Freiburg , where he was one of many Georgian players. During his time in Freiburg, the midfielder made 112 Bundesliga appearances (7 goals). When SC Freiburg was relegated from the Bundesliga in 2005, they originally wanted to move to Metalurh Donezk , but then accepted an offer from VfL Wolfsburg . But after only 15 games, the contract was canceled on July 4, 2006 by mutual agreement. In the same month he joined the Greek Super League club Panionios Athens , which has been coached by Ewald Lienen since 2006 . At the turn of the year 2006/2007 he completed an unsuccessful two-week trial training at AZ Alkmaar on the recommendation of Schota Arweladse . Tskitishvili then continued to play for Panionios Athens and moved to the second half of the 2008/2009 season for German second division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden , where he ended his career at the end of the season.
For the Georgian national football team , he played 58 international matches (1 goal).
In a poll by the Georgian newspaper Msoplio Sporti in December 2006, he was named Footballer of the Year 2006.
Tskitishvili completed a degree in economics. His nickname is Zkito .
