Konzenberg (498 m) is a district of Haldenwang in Bavaria and lies on the ridges of the Iller-Lech-Platte, which accompany the Mindeltal to the east .

The parish has grown together from the older Riblingen and the younger castle settlement Konzenberg. As owners of the Konzenberg manor house are named: 1305/1338 the lords of Burgau, 1351 the Halder, from 1361 the lords of Waldkirch, then the lords of Villenbach. In 1400 the rule came to the bishopric of Augsburg and was transferred as a pledge on various occasions.

In 1454 Konzenberg was exchanged by the bishopric for the rule of Weisingen and thus came to the Lords of Grafeneck, 1456 to the Lords of Stain , 1457/58 in exchange for Niederstotzingen to the Lords of Westernach , 1511 to the Lords of Knöringen , 1524 to the Augsburg citizen Adler and 1530 to the Augsburg patrician family Baumgartner. Under their local rule , Konzenberg, Landensberg, Glöttweng , Röfingen were united in addition to goods to Großkötz , Hochwang, Emmenthal, Scheppach and Roßhaupten to form Konzenberg.

Church and rectory

After the Baumgartner family died out at the beginning of the 17th century, Konzenberg fell into the hands of Tyrolean families until it was acquired again by the Augsburg monastery on July 17th, 1684. From then on, the village remained subordinate to the Aislingen Nursing Office , until secularization in the possession of the bishopric. The castle, uninhabited since it was sold in 1684, fell into disrepair.

Chaplains sat in Konzenberg as early as the 18th century. In 1783 a benefice was set up here, which in 1831 was elevated to a parish curate . This was also assigned to Riblingen and Mehrenstetten . The parish church of Mariäreinigung was built in 1854 and Konzenberg has been a formal parish since 1922.

The hamlet of Mehrenstetten, located between Mindelaltheim and Konzenberg, was fiefdom from the Margraviate of Burgau. Two of the originally three farms belonged to the Landensberg rulership and shared their fate. Originally, Mehrenstetten was parish in Waldkirch .

On May 1, 1978, the Konzenberg community was incorporated into the Haldenwang community.
