The Levisa Fork is the 225 km left headwaters of the Big Sandy River in southwest Virginia and east Kentucky .
The Levisa Fork River has its source in the Appalachian Mountains in eastern Buchanan County near Grundy in the US state of Virginia. It then flows through Pike County (Kentucky), takes in the Russell Fork River and flows into the Fishtrap Lake . It leaves the reservoir at the other end and flows through the cities of Pikeville and Prestonsburg . After all, it forms the Big Sandy River with the Tug Fork at Louisa at an altitude of 166 m .
