Lev Alexandrovich Russov

Lev Alexandrovich Russow ( Russian Лев Александрович Русов , scientific transliteration Leo Alexandrovič Russow ; born January 31, 1926 in Leningrad ; † February 20, 1987 in Leningrad , USSR ) was a Soviet- Russian painter and member of the Leningrad Artists 'Union , one of the most important representatives of the Leningrad Artists' Union the Leningrad School of Painting.

Career

Lev Alexandrovich Russov's parents were employees. In 1947 he graduated from the Leningrad Art School, in 1948 he entered the Academy of Fine Arts, but left it after two years due to illness. Since 1954 he participated in exhibitions of Leningrad artists. In addition to etchings, he painted late impressionist portraits, landscapes, genre scenes, still lifes in oil and as watercolors. In 1955 he was accepted into the Leningrad Artists Association.

Lev Alexandrovich Russov died on February 20, 1987 in Leningrad. Russov's paintings hang in art museums and in numerous private collections in Russia, the United States, Finland, France, Japan and other countries.
