The Saint Petersburg Artists Association (Russian: Санкт-Петербургский Союз художников) was founded on August 2, 1932 as an association of creative artists and art critics in what was then Leningrad . From 1959 it traded under the "Leningrad Association of Soviet Artists" (Russian: Ленинградский Союз художников) and in the same year the Leningrad Association joined the Association of Artists of the RSFSR . After the return designation of Leningrad in Saint Petersburg , September 6, 1991, her name was changed back to "Saint Petersburg Union of Artists".

structure

The Association of Artists of St. Petersburg is divided into nine sections: painting (900 members), sculpture (400), drawing (837), handicrafts (700), theater and film (280), ceramics , posters , iconography and art criticism . As of January 1, 2010, it had a total of 3,500 members.
