Lewin Werner von Görne

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lewin Werner von Görne (* 1685 ; † 1711 ) was lord of the castle in Plaue from 1690 to 1711 and son of Christoph von Görne the younger and nephew of Friedrich von Görne .

Life

Lewin Werner von Görne took over the family property as a child, which included not only the rulership of Plaue but also that of Briest and Nitzahn . At that time, the small town of Plaue was in poor condition: the church buildings were dilapidated, many houses were empty and crumbling. In 1706 he married Anna Charlotta von Hünicke. She was the daughter of David Freiherr von Hünicke, the heir of Möthlitz , Jerchel , Vehlen and Pessin .

In 1710 Lewin Werner von Görne went into debt with 6,000 thalers for renovations at Plauer Castle , but was not very successful in this. So it seemed more profitable for him to swap Plaue with his uncle, the Prussian finance minister Friedrich von Görne , for Kützkow . Then the heyday of the city of Plaue began.
